Local United Way office restructuring grants, program oversight

June 2, 2008 -- The Heart of Florida United Way has, for the last sixty years, sent money to various health and human service programs in Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties. Traditionally, when a program secured funding, it was considered safe for the foreseeable future. But now that's changing local United Way leaders are promoting a business model they say will better focus resources, and hold programs more accountable. But as 90.7's Stev Brown reports, similar restructuring at at least one other United Way office meant cuts to several programs.
